Tagging habits/tagging speed: I try to tag all my threads once a day at a minimum. Sometimes I can pop out a few extra, especially if it's a lighter thread. I'm also happy to slowmerang if we're both around!
Favorite types of characters to write against: All types! I love having a variety of CR! Positive interactions, silly hijinks, conflict and tension...give it all to me.

1 paragraph summary of character/canon: Avatar is a cartoon set in a universe where some people can manipulate one of the elements through "bending." The story is about the discovery of the one person who is capable of manipulating all four elements after he's been missing for 100 years, and his journey to end a war and return balance to the world. Sokka is fifteen-years-old and a non-bender, meaning he has no special abilities, though he learns throughout the series that he adds value to the team in other ways (planning, strategy/tactics, creativity, and more conventional fighting). He's from a tribal culture and considers himself a warrior. Throughout much of the series, he's largely the one who keeps the Avatar & friends moving forward on a schedule and focused on the mission at hand. He's an intelligent character, though he can be pretty goofy at times, but he grapples with his self-worth, guilt, and pessimism. Always the first one to throw himself into battle, Sokka would sacrifice for his family and friends in a heartbeat.

Possible non-event hooks:

• On the tdm, Sokka did a little snooping around outside in his pajamas, listening to conversations and trying to scope out the neighborhood. Maybe your character saw him? Maybe he listened in on your character's conversation?
  
• Sokka wants to get back home as soon as possible, so if your character is similarly motivated, he may want to team up!
  
• Sokka is going to spend some time at the local library trying to learn as much as possible about this place. He's also going to copy down a map or two and do a terrible job at it because he's not great at art.
  
• Ask him about his boomerang! He's going to carry it everywhere.
  
• Sokka is going to be a little tight-lipped about the big things that are happening in his canon but I like the idea of another character being able to pick up on some cultural idiosyncrasies that betray some of his background or maybe indicate that he's been through some serious war situations. I don't have concrete ideas for this but I can def think of some specifics if your character is perceptive in that way!
  

What are they up to in Sweetwater? Going to school! Trying to figure out what's really going on and get home asap, trying to reconcile the way he lives life back in his world with the way he's expected to live life now, trying to get up to speed on things like vehicles that move without the power of bending.

Most Desired CR: Any! All! Characters who can teach him a thing or two about life in the 1960's, characters who might have some culture clash with him, characters who like fishing and/or hunting and don't mind a teenager tagging along, characters who are annoyed by his sarcasm and/or sense of humor, characters who have experience in warfare that he can potentially learn from. Anyone who invents stuff, because Sokka does that in canon. Artists, if there are any around, as Sokka likes to make art but is terrible at it. Characters who are motivated to go home! Characters who are motivated to stay! Characters who want to learn how to throw a boomerang!

i come here offering one nurse from the korean war and a surly hitman.....i loved seeing sokka on the TDM, you captured his voice so well!! margaret can offer some insight on life in the 50s as well as maybe some thoughts on Warfare

Oh thank you so much!! I'm canonblind to M*A*S*H but absolutely would love for Margaret to share any and all insight she has on things! Sokka would love to pick someone's brain about war...and maybe she can teach him a thing or two about proper first aid at some point, since Sokka has been skirting by with a sister who can heal with water...

I don't know how, I don't know when, but I need these kids to encounter each other again!! Time got away from me with the holidays but GOD their CR was so good and your voice is super spot on, it's like threads are secret extra episodes. Really interested in the sort of grey area of whether Sokka is a child or a Man tm - Vasiliy's coming from a culture without a real strong concept of the teenager, and he started work at around 7 years old, so in many respects I think he'd actually be able to offer that "You're grown and you need to make your own decisions and take on adult responsibilities" treatment Sokka wants...but while also kind of recognizing that he's not as much of an adult as himself. It'd definitely ring different than treatment from the NPCs. Also would love to have him learn more about the Southern Water Tribe/possibly find some degree of solidarity in the Extreme Cultural Minority experience, because he's definitely homesick and has been feeling isolated from his own people for a year now in a hostile place, even if he doesn't say it.

Oh man yes please!! I absolutely loved their thread so I'm really glad you enjoyed it too (and thank you for your kind words about how I play Sokka!). I am completely game for figuring out a way to throw them together again, and especially for digging into culture with the two of them. I loved how we were able to do a little bit of that in our tdm thread (and I also really enjoyed how Vasiliy assumed that Sokka is Chukchi), as Sokka's relationship to his culture is one of my favorite topics to explore with him, especially when it comes to his experiences traveling the world, at times having to pretend to be someone he isn't (Fire Nation), and now, having to assimilate in an environment/culture that's so far removed from everything he knows. I also really love cultural exchange in RP, too, two people from entirely different backgrounds being able to find a little solace in sharing their own cultures and traditions. So I am all for working toward a place where he tells Vasiliy more about the Southern Water Tribe and the two of them finding some solidarity! And I think Vasiliy giving him that "you can make your own decisions" treatment will definitely be a good kick-off point for them. All that to say, I think they have a lot of potential and I am really looking forward to developing it!

I think there's a high probability Sokka won't respect Jupe at all (which is correct of him), but I'd love to bounce them off each other! Jupe has 3 obnoxious sons back home, so he's pretty good about rolling with sarcasm and teen antics, and it might even make him nostalgic.

PS He WILL think the boomerang is, like, a weird kid hyperfixation.

Heck yeah I would love to throw them at each other!! I'm getting the sense that Jupe could potentially make Sokka facepalm at some point and I hope that's true because I've been wanting to cross that off my Sokka RP bingo card, haha.
