I think both can be pretty easily arranged!! Margaret will probably get a moderately normal approach at some point once he can clock that she seems new (or vice versa), and he'll be very invested in keeping tabs on her/anyone in their camp with medical skills, since he sure as shit is going to be skeptical of that hospital. She's pretty much exactly the kind of character I was imagining with the 'he's very easy to just string along for these first weeks', please do just run him over with sheer force of will. I figure clashing stances can slip in naturally wherever they may and blow up on when they're good and ready. (I also wouldn't want to subject you to an endless historical Q&A but he'll be fascinated to realize she's actually not plucked out of the future, if/whenever that comes up presume he spent two hours running his mouth trying to fact check it.)
And very much the same with Numbers!! If Edward sees or is subjected to Numbers' interrogation style familiarizing I think he could pretty easily get it into his head this guy's either been with law enforcement or the criminal element, having spent a lot of time digging into both street level and organized crime himself. And like I'd said on the Wrench comment above, no projected aims yet, but it's a skillset he'd be very motivated to ally himself with (/promise to pay off very handsomely, but isn't it more fun when you're up to shady shit with pals)

and what's crime without *~friends~* to do it with? friends being a loose term in this regard. coincidental allies, maybe.
