That works really well! They can totally compare notes/codedly imply things at each other/etc.

Oh, she can DEFINITELY help with that aspect -- her hometown is of the "when people slow the car to a crawl as they see you and roll down the window, it's because they're about to call a hello and ask after your family, not because you're about to get (best-case) catcalled aggressively" type, and having neighbors who stop by unannounced to see if you want to take some of their overstock of tomatoes or just check in after some weird weather is -- kind of normal for the places she grew up. You gotta say hi and remember if they have kids, Ed!
